Addressing antisemitism in child safeguarding and protection
Safeguarding measures in schools are vital in the fight against antisemitism. By embedding clear policies and proactive strategies, schools can create safe, inclusive environments where prejudice is challenged and respect is promoted. Effective safeguarding begins with staff training, ensuring teachers and leaders can identify antisemitic language, behaviour or online activity and respond swiftly and appropriately.
This toolkit aims to support school leaders and everyone working in schools to better safeguard children and staff from antisemitism. It was developed in response to the urgent need for dedicated tools and resources to help address it.
The toolkit was produced by Safe to Learn, a network of teachers, parents, researchers, policymakers, young people and child safeguarding practitioners, working together to end antisemitism in UK schools.
