Channel is a multi-agency programme across England and Wales that provides support to anyone vulnerable to being drawn into or supporting terrorism. In Scotland, the programme is known as Prevent Multi-Agency Panel (PMAP). This course is for:

  • Local authority Channel panel or PMAP chairs
  • Channel or PMAP members
  • anyone who may be asked to contribute to, or sit on, a Channel panel or PMAP

This course will give you an understanding of the full Channel or PMAP process and the intervention options available. When you have completed this course, you will be able to:

  • describe what Channel or PMAP is

  • identify the roles and responsibilities of people within the Channel panel or PMAP

  • share information at the right time with the right person

  • recognise the first steps to assess whether someone is vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism

  • identify the most appropriate options available to support a person at risk of being drawn into terrorism

  • understand the requirement to obtain consent before being able to support a person
